Turkana

Heading to Turkana with some new ideas for project we are working on.

In the vast arid landscapes of northwestern Kenya lies a region of remarkable beauty and cultural significance - Turkana. Nestled amidst the Turkana Basin and bordered by the shimmering expanse of Lake Turkana, this remote area is not just a geographical location but a tapestry of history, tradition, and resilience embodied by its local people, the Turkana.

These indigenous nomadic pastoralists have thrived for generations, herding livestock across the arid plains and embracing tight-knit community ties.

Despite challenges like droughts, their rich cultural heritage, including language, attire, and traditions, remains strong.

Turkana is also a hotspot for archaeology, with discoveries shedding light on human evolution. In Turkana, Kenya, the land and its people are inseparable, showcasing a remarkable spirit that endures through time.
