Reed Davis is a New York–based photographer and creative director whose career spans more than four decades, with roots in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City. Renowned for his refined eye and sensitivity to light, color, texture, composition, and human connection, Reed has built a diverse portfolio that bridges fashion, interiors, culinary arts, portraiture, and travel.
His commercial and editorial work includes collaborations with leading international brands such as Bloomingdale’s, Clinique, Danskin, Dean & DeLuca, Estée Lauder, Lands’ End, Macy’s, Martha Stewart Living, Nordstrom, Perigold, Pottery Barn (including Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, and Pottery Barn Bed & Bath), Tiffany & Co., Wayfair, and Williams-Sonoma. His imagery has helped shape campaigns, catalogues, and visual identities across industries ranging from fashion and beauty to home design and lifestyle.
Reed’s career began in Los Angeles, where he photographed celebrities, top models, and chefs, before moving to New York City to work extensively in publications, books, and advertising. Since the early 1990s, New York has been his home base, serving as the foundation for his continued international practice and artistic growth.
Today, Reed is deeply engaged with Africa’s creative landscape. His forthcoming book, Textures of Humanity: Beauty and Richness of Africa, draws from four years of travel and collaboration with designers, artisans, and communities across the continent. He is also developing a new docuseries with an Emmy award–winning chef to be filmed in Nigeria, alongside a podcast series interviewing leading creatives across the industry.
